The Minister of National Education, Technical Training, and Reform, Mr. Mohamed Melainine Ould Eyih, participated, Monday morning via videoconference, in a roundtable organized by UNESCO, under the theme, “Watch over the opening of schools, give priority to teachers, and support them”.
In a speech on the occasion, the Minister thanked UNESCO for the organization of this meeting and for the high level of the debates, which reflects the importance of this roundtable, one year after the COVID-19 outbreak by stressing that this will help prioritize the take-off of education to save an entire generation.
He added that Mauritania has faced, like the international community, the coronavirus pandemic with all its challenges to the education system, stressing that a national plan intended to deal with the pandemic and to save the school year was developed and implemented very quickly.
