On 17 March, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic,  supervised in Djeol, located nearly 18 km south-east of Kaedi (wilaya of Gorgol), the launching ceremony of the first edition of the cultural festival, which bears the name of the city.

This festival aims to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen local development in the area through a package of projects that will start on the sidelines of the event to allow citizens to access various basic services.
