President of the Republic: We must all Confront Firmly Attempts to Distort our Religion

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, affirmed that Mauritania will spare no effort, during its presidency of the forty-ninth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to support and develop joint Islamic action.

During the opening of the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), he stressed the need to combat extremism and terrorism, calling on everyone to work firmly and strictly to confront attempts to distort Islam through recurrent vicious Islamophobic campaigns.

His Excellency called for exerting all possible efforts to resolve all disputes between each other in a manner that preserves each country’s territorial possession and sovereignty and makes it an active element in achieving development and sustainable development in our Islamic space as a whole.
