The 45th session of the Islamic Committee for Economic, Cultural, and Social Affairs, chaired on behalf of Mauritania by the Ambassador, HE.Ms. Alia Mint Menkouss, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, ended on 24 January at the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, with the adoptiona number of draft resolutions in various areas of expertise of the Committee.
These resolutions will be submitted for approval at the 49th Session of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of OIC Member States, which will be held in Nouakchott on 16-17 March 2023.
The meeting also adopted the report of the session and the draft report of the Joint General Assembly of the OIC subsidiary organs after its reading.
In her closing speech, Ms. Mint Mankous expressed her sincere thanks to the two sisterly countries, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host country, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which assumed the outgoing presidency and the OIC General Secretariat, for the proper organization and facilitation of the work of the session, as well as to the Permanent Representatives of Member States to the Organization.
She also thanked the officials and executive directors of the specialized bodies and institutions of the Organization for the level and quality of the contributions made by the delegations to enrich the subjects addressed on the agenda of this session.
