Mauritania Strongly Condemns Israeli Minister’s Assault on Al-Aqsa Mosque Courtyard

On 3 January, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania strongly expressed its condemnation of the assault on the courtyard of the holy Al-Aqsa mosque by an Israeli government minister.

This is what emerges from a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, the full text of which is as follows:

“The Islamic Republic of Mauritania condemns in the strongest possible terms the assault on the courtyard of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque by an Israeli minister, in flagrant violation of international law and brutal provocation of the feelings of the Islamic Ummah.

While condemning this flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions and of all measures aimed at changing the legal status of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania reaffirms its firm position alongside the Palestinian people and its support for all efforts and mediations aimed at ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with Al Quads as its capital, following the international resolutions adopted in this regard”.
