Presentation of Republic of Mali

The Republic of Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa, bordered to the north by Algeria, to the east by Niger, to the south by Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast, to the west and south by Guinea , to the west by Mauritania and Senegal. It has an area of more than 1.240.000 km2 with a population of 14.5 millions ; its capital is Bamako.

Mali consists of eight regions ,its northern border extends deeply in the Sahara, while the southern region of the country, where the majority of the population lives, passes through the Niger and Senegal rivers.
The country’s economic depends essentially on agriculture and fishing. Mali has some natural resources such as gold, uranium and salt.

Mauritania and Mali have close bilateral relations, they are two founding of the five Sahel countries group. they share a border of 2,000 kilometres and belong to many international and regional organizations ; each one of them hosts a considerable community , engaging in various activities and contributing to the revitalization of the host country’s economy.
