President of Republic Receives French Ambassador’s Credentials

On 4 October, in Nouakchott His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Alexandre Garcia, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic received the French diplomat in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
Shortly after the meeting, HE Mr. Alexandre Garcia told the Mauritanian news agency that he was very honored and happy to be appointed to Mauritania, which is very important to France.
He added that the bilateral relations are very close, very intense, and of high quality before stressing that, during his tenure, he will work to continue the partnership and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in all areas.
The French ambassador also affirmed that he would meet the Mauritanian authorities, civil society, and the business world to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
