President of Republic Receives Turkish Ambassador’s Credentials

On 4 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Akif Mounavis, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic met with the Turkish diplomat in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
Soon after the meeting, Mr. Akif Mounavis told the Mauritanian news agency that the excellent relations between Mauritania and Turkey reflected the will of the two countries’ leaders.
He praised the “My Commitments” program of the President of the Republic, which will lead Mauritania toward a bright future, stressing that Turkey supports all the commitments of the President of the Republic.
HE Mr. Mounavis also indicated that the cooperation between the two countries covers several areas, including education, investment, trade, and humanitarian assistance, which are developing day after day before. He affirmed that he would do his best to enhance cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries.
