Nouakchott, la c?r?monie de prestation de serment du nouveau Pr?sident de la Cour Supr?me, M. Cheikh Ahmed Ould Sid Ahmed.
On 10 June in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, who is also the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, supervised the swearing-in ceremony of Mr. Cheikh Ahmed Ould Sid Ahmed, the new President of the Supreme Court.
The President of the Republic called on the President of the Supreme Court to take the following oath: “I swear by Allah, the One and Only, that I will perform my duties faithfully and exercise them with impartiality and integrity, under the provisions of the Islamic Sharia, the Constitution, and the laws, and that I will maintain the secrecy of deliberations, that I will not take public positions or give private opinions on matters within the jurisdiction of the courts, and that I generally behave as an honest and dedicated judge.”
Then, His Excellency the President of the Republic announced the investiture of Mr. Cheikh Ahmed Ould Sid Ahmed, as President of the Supreme Court.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal, the Prime Minister, MP Cheikh Ould Baya, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Diallo Mamadou Bathia, the President of the Constitutional Council, Mr. Yahya Ould Ahmed El Waghef, the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ould Boye, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Hamid Ould Ahmed Taleb, the President of the Court of Accounts, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Mohamed Lemine, the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court, Mr. Isselmou Ould Sid El Moustaph, the President of the Fatwa and Grievances Higher Council, Mr. Sidi Ould Domane, an Officer in Charge of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic, and Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Ould Khaled, Chief Registrar at the Supreme Court.
