Queen of Spain Visits Agricultural Production Project, National Public Health Emergency Operations Center

On 2 June, the Queen of Spain, Her Majesty Do?a Letesa Ortiz Rocasolano, paid a visit to the site of the agricultural production project and the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations in Nouakchott.

Ms. Savia Mint N’Tahah, the Minister of Social Affairs, Children, and Family, Ms. Fatimetou Abdelmaleck, the President of the Region of Nouakchott, HE Mr. Johns Guillem, the head of the Delegation of the European Union to Mauritania, HE Mr. Kane Boubacar, the Ambassador of Mauritania to Spain, and HE Ms. Maria Alvarez Dela Rosa, the Spanish Ambassador to Mauritania, welcomed the Queen upon her arrival at the agricultural production project.

Her Majesty the Queen and the accompanying delegation received detailed explanations of the project before visiting its various components.

Mr. Saleck Ould Ahmed Cherif, the coordinator of the agricultural production project, indicated that it is implemented by the region of Nouakchott in cooperation with the Spanish Cooperation and offers job opportunities to 150 farmers.
He added that the project aims to support women entrepreneurs in urban and rural areas, provide employment opportunities, develop agricultural plots, and provide agricultural equipment.

Previously, Her Majesty had visited the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations in Nouakchott, where she was briefed on the role of this infrastructure, implemented in cooperation with the Spanish Cooperation Agency.

In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, the officer in charge of the center indicated that this structure takes care of all urgent cases by providing first aid at the accident’s scene, which is decisive for the life prognosis of injured persons.
