Minister of Agriculture Holds Talks with FAO Head of the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa

The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Adama Bokar Soko, held talks Thursday in his office with the head of the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Mr. Jean-Marc Force, who is currently visiting our country.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of supporting Mauritania’s efforts in the search for food security as a way to achieve self-sufficiency, especially in rice and support rain and oases agriculture, with a particular focus on vegetable and fruit cultivation.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of the institutional support to the Directorate of Plant Protection, especially in the fields of research and training.
