Foreign Minister: ?Mauritania Supports Any Joint African Effort To Deal With Unconstitutional Changes?

On 28 May, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, affirmed Mauritania’s support for any joint African effort to address unconstitutional changes in Africa as far as it does not impacts the living conditions of the African peoples concerned.

The Minister’s statements came during his participation, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in the work of the extraordinary summit of the African Union on terrorism and unconstitutional changes held in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

He warned against the danger that terrorism poses to Africa after the multiplication of its operations and the worrying increase in the number of its victims.
