APIM Director General Meets With IMF Delegation

On 23 May in Nouakchott, Ms. Aissata Lam, the Director General of the Agency for Promotion of Investment in Mauritania (APIM), received Ms. Anta Diop, the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Mauritania accompanied by a delegation from the institution led by Mr. Joel Turkewitz from the IMF Legal Department.

The two parties met following the preliminary meeting they held last December as part of the governance mission commissioned by the Mauritanian government to make a multi-sectoral diagnosis of the state of governance in Mauritania.

Discussions focused on APIM?s role in terms of transparency with international organizations and the means of cooperating with the IMF.

They also touched on companies benefiting from special tax regimes, where APIM presented the results of the monitoring and evaluation of companies it approved under the investment code.

After this meeting, the IMF delegation visited the new premises of the Single Window and met other members of the APIM team who briefed it on the progress of work there.
