Foreign Minister: “Mauritania now has experience in doctrinal dialogue to deconstruct the theses of the terrorist movement”

On 11 May in Marrakech, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, took part in the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, with the participation of representatives of more than 80 countries and international organizations.

The meeting is organized at the joint invitation of Messrs. Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, and Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State.

On that occasion, the Minister stressed that Mauritania had adopted a multifaceted security strategy based on a defense and security system installed throughout its borders. On the ideological level, Ould Merzoug noted Mauritania now has experience in doctrinal dialogue that aims to deconstruct the theses invoked by the terrorist movement to justify their criminal actions.
