Mauritanian Experts Leave for Bamako to Take Part in Investigation into El Attaye Events

A delegation of Mauritanian experts to be part of the joint ad hoc mission responsible for shedding light on the events of El Attaye left for Bamako on 16 March.

At the place of the incident, experts from both countries will begin their work as decided during the meeting of the two high-level delegations on 12 March 2022 in Nouakchott.

The speed in setting up this mission confirms the will of the two parties to implement all the commitments made during the visit of a Malian delegation to Mauritania. The joint statement released identifies the measures to be taken to establish the facts relating to the tragic events of 5 March and to avoid the occurrence of acts affecting the property and physical integrity of Mauritanian citizens in Mali.
