Human rights Commissioner Stresses Mauritania’s Commitment To Promote Human Rights

The Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, Mr. Hassenna Ould Boukhreiss, said that human rights situation in our country had witnessed an unprecedented development in the field of promotion and protection of civil, political, economic, and social rights. Such a quantum leap boosted Mauritania’s position among the ranks of nations that are seriously endeavoring to build the state of law, institutions, and establishment of democracy and human rights.
In a speech delivered Wednesday on the Human Rights Day, which is commemorated on 10 December of each year, the commissioner stressed that our country is determined, through its different programs and development strategies, to promote and protect human rights in cooperation with all partners.
He called on all national actors and development partners to effectively contribute to this approach, which gives human rights the appropriate care and attention.
