Health Minister Receives WFP Representative

On 28 January, the Minister of Health, Mr. Sidi Ould Zahaf, received in Nouakchott, Ms. Candaye Samba, resident representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Mauritania.

During the meeting, Both parties discussed the cooperation between the Ministry and the Program, particularly the possibility of developing a joint program in the field of malnutrition, mobilizing technical expertise in the field of logistics and stock management, and the need to reactivate the National Nutrition Committee, in addition to developing a comprehensive community strategy for malnutrition in partnership with other sectors.

On the occasion, the Minister gave a presentation on the efforts made by the government to mobilize its own resources to take care of malnutrition within the framework of the food emergency response plan.
