President of Republic Receives Message From Chinese Counterpart

On 7 January, the President of the Republic, His Excellency, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received the following message from His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China:

“Excellency Mr. President, I have learned, Excellency, the news of your contamination with the new coronavirus, and I would like to reassure myself about your health while wishing you a speedy recovery.

China and Mauritania have shown solidarity and cooperation to fight the coronavirus pandemic as soon as it broke out.

The Chinese government and people tirelessly support the efforts of the Mauritanian government and people in their fight against the pandemic, and we are confident that under your leadership, Mauritania will quickly overcome the pandemic.
