As part of his state visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, visited, Monday evening, the Maqam E’chahid (Monument of the Martyr) in Algiers.
During this visit, His Excellency the President of the Republic laid a wreath in front of the monument of the martyrs of the glorious Algerian revolution. He also observed a minute of silence and read the Fatiha in memory of their souls before visiting the Mujahid Museum.
His Excellency the President of the Republic received explanations on the museum, which summarizes the stages of the resistance of the Algerian people to French colonialism. It also provides information about the strategies that Prince Abdelkader used to resist the colonizer and the role that the Algerian National Liberation Army played in this resistance.
At the end of this visit, His Excellency the President of the Republic wrote in the Register of the monument of the martyrs:
“The Mujahid Museum is a majestic historical monument which truly tells the story of the jihad of the Algerian nation, the journey of its immortal liberating revolution, and its enormous sacrifices in the face of the most odious forms of colonialism.
We have a living memory of the history of a great nation which made history, and which took the souls of innocent martyrs as the finest saga for dignity and glory”.
At the end of the visit, His Excellency the President of the Republic presented the shield of the Mujahid Museum to the holders of the museum.
During the various stages, His Excellency the President of the Republic was accompanied by the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Adab, our Ambassador to Algeria, HE Mr. Weddadi Ould Sidi Haiba, and members of the accompanying delegation.
