President of Republic Affirms that Mauritania is Making Determined Efforts to Achieve Development and Security in the African Continent
The 3rd Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit began Saturday in Istanbul in the presence of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, along with the Turkish President, H.E. Mr. Racep Tayyib Erdogan, heads of African countries, and the African Union Organization.
The summit takes place under the theme: “Enhanced Partnership for Common Development and Prosperity”.
in his intervention at the summit, the President of the Republic stressed that the partnership between Africa and Turkey provides a wide range of opportunities for trade exchange and investment between the two sides, noting that the summit’s focus on the topics of agriculture, education, and health is wise and reflects the need for upgrading cooperation in these vital fields.
His Excellency affirmed that Mauritania attaches great attention to these vital fields and is working on fundamental reforms in them. He declared that Mauritania is aware that education is the main pillar for the development of economies, thus it hosted recently a summit on education in the Sahel.
He praised the strong fraternal ties between Mauritania and Turkey and expressed the will to further develop them for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
He added that our country is making determined efforts to achieve development and security in the African continent and in the Sahel region in particular.
On his part, the Turkish President expressed confidence that the trade volume between Turkey and Africa could be increased to 50 billion dollars, saying the trade exchange between the two sides exceeded 25.3 million dollars in 2020.
