President of Republic Receives UN secretary General Special Envoy, Head of MINUSCA

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received, Friday in Nouakchott, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, and Head of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Mr. Mankeur Ndiaye, who is currently visiting Mauritania. He was accompanied by the commander of MINUSCA, General Daniel Sidiki Traoré.
At the end of the meeting, the UN official told the Mauritanian news agency (AMI) that he was privileged to be received by the President of the Republic and expressed his thanks, on behalf of the United Nations, for the award given to him.
‘’I came, at the invitation of the government, to participate in the events commemorating the national Independence Day, accompanied by the commander of MINUSCA, General Daniel Sidiki Traore. Mauritania has been an integral part of the MINUSCA mission since 2015 by sending 263 policemen,464 soldiers, 14 of whom are staff officers’’, he said.
The meeting took place in the presence of Ms. Maria Stavropoulou, Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Mauritania.
