Mauritania, Türkiye Discuss Strengthening Educational Cooperation

On July 14 in Nouakchott, Ms. Houda Babah, Mauritania’s Minister of Education and Education System Reform, held talks with a Turkish delegation led by Dr. Cihat Demirli, Deputy Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye, accompanied by Dr. Burhan Karaoğlu, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Mauritania.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in education, with both sides reviewing opportunities to expand their partnership in support of Mauritania’s ongoing education system reform. They also explored avenues for enhancing collaboration through the exchange of expertise and the adoption of successful educational practices.

The two sides emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination and broadening cooperation across the education sector to improve the quality of teaching and learning while advancing the shared priorities of Mauritania and Türkiye.
