On 6 May in Nouakchott, the Mauritanian-Algerian Business Council held its eleventh session.
The opening ceremony provided an opportunity for the Council’s Mauritanian President, Mr Mohamed Lefdhel Ould Bettah, to welcome the Algerian delegation to Mauritania, praising the excellent relations and growing partnerships between the two countries, particularly in the private sector.
For his part, the Chairman of the Council on the Algerian side, Mr Youssef El Ghazi, expressed his gratitude to his Mauritanian counterpart for the warm welcome, stating his hope for further development and strengthening of Mauritanian-Algerian relations, in a way that ensures their sustainability and serves mutual interests.
During the session, the Council reviewed in detail the outcomes of the previous session, the level of their implementation, and the extent of engagement with them, expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved and emphasising that these results would serve to strengthen economic, commercial and financial dynamism between Mauritania and Algeria.
The session also resulted in the election of Mr Sidi Othman Ould Cheikh Maa El-Ainin, Director General of the Arab General Services Company, as Secretary-General of the Mauritanian-Algerian Business Council.
