Mauritania, Brazil Discuss Ways To Strengthen Fisheries Cooperation

On 23 April in Nouakchott, Mr. Mokhtar Ahmed Bousseif, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructure, met with Mr. Evaldo Freire, Brazilian Ambassador to Mauritania, to discuss deepening cooperation in the maritime fisheries sector.

The talks highlighted ways to strengthen the partnership and celebrated recent progress, including the removal of barriers that had restricted Mauritanian fishery exports, particularly small pelagic species, to Brazil’s market of over 300 million consumers.

The meeting underscores both countries’ commitment to fostering trade and sustainable development in this vital sector.
