On 23 March in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, Minister of Interior and Promotion of Decentralization and Local Development, held a working session with Mr. Magnus Brunner, the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, who is currently visiting Mauritania.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the various areas of the strategic partnership between Mauritania and the European Union, as well as ways to strengthen and expand it.
Both parties also welcomed the content of the Partnership Declaration signed between Mauritania and the European Union on 7 March 2024, which serves common interests in various areas of cooperation, including security requirements, economic development, and combating irregular migration and cross-border crime.
