President of Republic Holds Telephone Talks With Iraqi Counterpart

On March 3, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, President of the Republic, held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Dr. Abdellatif Rachid, President of the Republic of Iraq. During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region and their impact on regional security and stability.

During the call, the President of the Republic expressed Mauritania’s full solidarity with brotherly Iraq following the attacks on some Iraqi regions. He reaffirmed Mauritania’s condemnation of any aggression that undermines Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that its security is an integral part of Arab national security.

Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani and his Iraqi counterpart also emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and diplomatic means, expressing the need to defuse current tensions to strengthen security and stability in the region.
