Today, Tuesday, at the International Conference Center “Mokhtar Ould Daddah” in Nouakchott, the First Lady, Dr. Mariem Fadel Dah, presided over the launch of the national framework “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Republican School.”
This national framework aims to enhance the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the education sector, expand their application, and establish an integrated system for cooperation and coordination among public stakeholders, private partners, and academic institutions. Its objective is to position Mauritania as a regional leader in the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.
This initiative also contributes to improving the quality of education and teaching, strengthening teachers’ pedagogical and digital skills, and preparing students and young people to integrate into the knowledge society. It aligns with the strategic vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, which seeks to build a modern, equitable Republican School that looks to the future with confidence and determination.
Furthermore, the framework promotes the ethical, responsible, and sovereign integration of artificial intelligence into the national education system. It offers promising opportunities, including the adaptation and personalization of learning to meet learners’ needs, support for teachers, improved education governance, and enhanced educational equity—particularly in remote areas and for vulnerable groups, including girls and persons with disabilities.
