As part of the 65th National Independence Day celebrations, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, laid the foundation stone for the water distribution hub project in northern Nouakchott on 22 December.
The President was briefed on the means and mechanisms for implementing the project, as well as their effectiveness in completing the work. Project managers provided detailed explanations about the project’s role in increasing water production. Afterwards, he laid the foundation stone and unveiled the plaque marking the start of work.
The project to strengthen water distribution in Nouakchott, with a total cost of MRU 800 million, aims to improve and secure the water supply produced by the Idini aquifer and the Aftout Essahili system.
