President of the Republic oversees the Inauguration and Laying of the foundation stone for a Number of Administrative, judicial, and Sports facilities and Buildings.

Nouakchott, December 22, 2025 (MNA) – His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, presided this evening, Monday in Nouakchott, over the inauguration and groundbreaking of several administrative, judicial, and sports facilities and buildings.
This inauguration, which is part of the events commemorating the 65th anniversary of National Independence Day, aims to strengthen administrative, judicial, and sports infrastructure, and to improve public services.
These inaugurations included: the government building, the headquarters of the Ministry of Trade, the central headquarters of the Road Transport Regulatory Authority, the Palace of Justice in South Nouakchott (Arafat), the Port District Court, the sports complex in the Sebkha District, in addition to launching the stadium accreditation project and laying the first natural turf at the Olympic Stadium.
The program included the inauguration of the headquarters of the National Observatory for the Environment and the Coast, and the launch of the water distribution hubs project in Nouakchott.
The government building has undergone a comprehensive restoration and renovation, including the reorganization of offices and optimal use of space, at a cost of 238 million new ouguiyas.
The government building consists of a ground floor, three upper floors, and a basement. It includes 239 offices, 12 meeting rooms, and 7 archive rooms, in addition to modern technological systems and service facilities.
As for the headquarters of the Ministry of Commerce, the work included its restoration and expansion. It is a two-story building housing 100 administrative offices, the minister’s office, the general secretariat, and a large meeting hall, with security and fire-fighting systems, at a cost of 67 million new Ouguiya.
For the headquarters of the Road Transport Regulatory Authority includes 63 offices and integrated administrative and technical facilities, at a cost of nearly 58.3 million new ouguiyas, fully funded by the Authority.
The Palace of Justice in South Nouakchott, implemented with funding from the European Union, at a cost of 115 million ouguiyas
As for the project to approve the stadiums and rehabilitate the Olympic stadium, it involves laying the first natural turf in accordance with FIFA standards and equipping the stands with 10,000 seats, making the facility suitable for hosting international competitions.
The headquarters of the National Observatory for Environment headqiaters and, funded by the World Bank at a cost of 18,935,168.5 new ouguiya, with 40 offices, and consists of two floors.It houses the headquarters of the National Observatory for Environment
As for the Water Distribution Poles project in Nouakchott, which has a total cost of 800 million new Ouguiya, it aims to strengthen the security of water supply produced from Idini and Aftouta ELsahili
