Mauritania’s Mines Minister Holds Talks With Turkish Ambassador, Kardemir Holding

On July 30 in Nouakchott, Mr. Dy Ould Zein, Mauritania’s Minister of Mines and Industry, met with Dr. Burhan Köroğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Mauritania, accompanied by Mustafa Aydin, a member of Kardemir Holding’s Board of Directors.

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between Mauritania and Türkiye, particularly in the mining and industrial sectors. Discussions also covered investment opportunities and potential partnerships, in line with the Mauritanian government’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business climate and attracting value-added investments.

The two sides further explored prospects for cooperation with Kardemir Holding and the company’s potential contribution to the development of industrial and mining projects in Mauritania. Such collaboration is expected to support the country’s efforts to expand its mining and industrial sectors while deepening economic ties between Mauritania and Türkiye.
