On 19 November in Addis Ababa, His Excellency Mr. El Houssein Ould Naji, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union Commission, formally presented his credentials to Mr. Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), as Mauritania’s designated representative to the Commission.
At the official ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed greetings from His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, to the ECA Executive Secretary, underscoring Mauritania’s commitment to further strengthening ties with this United Nations body across multiple fields.
The two parties also committed to continuing coordination to ensure the success of the ECA Executive Secretary’s planned visit to our country, aimed at strengthening cooperation and exploring new areas where the Commission could serve Mauritania.
The ECA Executive Secretary expressed his readiness to support Mauritania on governance reforms, strategic development planning, credit risk management, small and medium enterprise partnerships, trade, and digital transformation.
