Mauritania is participating in Doha in the launch of the second World Summit for Social Development

The second World Summit for Social Development opened on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, with the participation of a high-level Mauritanian delegation led by Her Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood and Family, Mrs. Savia Ntahah, as well as delegations representing several brotherly and friendly countries, and regional and international organizations.

The summit was opened by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, in the presence of heads of state, heads of government, and dignitaries from around the world. The summit, which will continue for three days, will address ways to strengthen social justice, fight poverty, and expand employment opportunities and social inclusion, as part of international efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and renew global commitment to the values of fairness and human solidarity.
