Prime Minister chairs the meeting of the Ministrial Committee in charge of Monitoring Major Projects

The Prime Minister, Mr. El Moctar Ould Djay, chaired on Monday the periodic meeting of the Ministerial Committee responsible for Monitoring Major Projects.
The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the progress of government projects during the months of September and October. The reports presented showed that the pace of implementation has improved despite some impacts resulting from rainfall during the rainy season.
The presentation indicated that the completion rate of the Nouakchott city development program has reached 66%, while the required deadlines have only been exhausted to the extent of 56%, reflecting a positive performance in the progress of the work.
The Prime Minister called on the departments involved to accelerate the handling of observations concerning the executing companies, either by finding urgent solutions to ensure the continuity of the work within the set deadlines, or by taking the necessary legal measures to terminate the contracts if necessary.
At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening monitoring and control mechanisms on the ground, in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in order to ensure the improvement of project performance and compliance with the required technical and quality standards.
