Minister of Economic Affairs receives the Ambassador of Japan

Nouakchott, November 3, 2025 (AMI) – The Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidya, held a meeting on Monday in Nouakchott with the Ambassador of Japan to Mauritania, H.E. Uchida Tatsukuni.The meeting focused on reviewing the fruitful cooperation between Mauritania and Japan, as well as exploring ways to strengthen and further develop it in various areas of mutual interest.
The meeting took place in the presence of Mr. Yacoub Ould Ahmed Aïcha, Secretary General of the Ministry, and Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Nani, Director General of Financing and Economic Cooperation.
It should be noted that cooperation between the two countries covers several vital and strategic sectors, including food security, fishing, support for development projects, and technical and financial cooperation
