Defense Minister Receives AFRICOM Delegation

Defense Minister Hanena Ould Sidi met, on Thursday in Nouakchott, with a delegation from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) led by Ambassador Andrew Young, Deputy Commander for Civil-Military Engagement, in the presence of Lieutenant-General Kirk Smith, AFRICOM Deputy Commander.

The meeting, which was attended by HE Ms. Cynthia Kierscht, Ambassador of the United States of America to Mauritania, focused on the cooperation relations between the two countries, as well as on ways and means to strengthen them, particularly in the areas of security and defense.
