President of NCHR Holds Meetings With Regional Authorities in Aioun

Aioun, 3 November 2020 (AMI)-The President of the National Commission of Human Rights (NCHR), Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Bouhoubeini, held a series of meetings ,on Monday, in Aioun, with administrative and security authorities, the regional council of Hodh Gharbi, and the municipality members of Aioun.

The President explained that the commission, as a consultative body aiming at the promotion of Human Rights, is concerned with taking into consideration Human Rights in the development policies.

He added that the Mauritanian government put in place laws to fight against slavery and the NCHR is reassured that all authorities involved in the fight against this phenomenon will cooperate. In this regard, he mentioned the importance of reporting any slavery practices.
