Delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meets the Mauritanian Community in Qatar

A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of the Gulf States met with the Mauritanian community in Qatar on Wednesday evening at the Mauritanian Embassy in Doha. This meeting is part of awareness and communication visits with national communities abroad, as part of preparations for the Mauritanian Communities Forum, scheduled before the end of the year.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Doha, H.E. Mohamed Ould Bebana, welcomed the members of the delegation, greeting the Mauritanian community in Qatar, which he described as a ‘high-quality and distinguished community’ thanks to its national skills in various fields.

He emphasized his ability to contribute to planning, vision, and foresight before calling on members of this community to actively participate in the forum and to select representatives with the necessary qualifications to express their aspirations.

The ambassador also praised the bilateral relations between Mauritania and Qatar, highlighting the willingness of the leaders of both countries to strengthen them and elevate them to the level of the aspirations of the two fraternal peoples.

For his part, the head of the mission, Ambassador Mohamed Mouloud Ould Mohamed Salem, Director General of Mauritanians Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave a presentation on the ongoing preparations for the forum, emphasizing the importance of this event, organized for the first time, and the decisions that will result from it, serving the interests of Mauritanian communities worldwide.

The head of the mission explained that the Qatari community is distinguished by the diversity of its specializations and expertise, as well as by the significant presence of its executives, which qualifies it to play a leading role within the forum.He reviewed the main points of the program and the key themes of the forum, specifying that the selection of participants will be carried out through community offices and organizations, in coordination with diplomatic missions.Mr. Mohamed Mouloud Ould Mohamed Salem also indicated that the forum will welcome Mauritanian experts and talents abroad alongside representatives of the communities.

He will address economic and development topics (investment, remittances, banking services), as well as cultural, scientific, and educational topics (cultural openness, education, scientific research, cultural and spiritual diplomacy).

The ambassador emphasized that the ministry has adopted a participatory approach involving the relevant sectors in the preparations, thereby allowing communities to engage directly with them on various pertinent issues. In his speech, Mohamed Abdallahi Ould Bouka, a deputy representing the Asia constituency in the National Assembly, praised the ministry’s initiative to consult communities, expressing his willingness to support this process and his hope that the forum will lead to decisions that will improve the lives of communities. He also called on members of the Qatari community to participate actively and work towards achieving tangible results.

Ambassador Toutou Mint Regad, Director of Emergency Services, Culture, and Social Affairs, presented the organizational arrangements of the forum, noting the creation of a dedicated website providing the necessary information for registration, workshop selection, and program consultation.

She urged the participants to stay informed about the evolving situation and to actively participate in this unprecedented event.The awareness and communication missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Mauritanian communities around the world are ongoing, particularly in Africa and Europe, and are currently continuing in Asia.
