Nouakchott

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, left Nouakchott early Wednesday morning to go to Italy in order to participate in the eleventh edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum (MED Dialogues 2025).

The forum will be held in Naples, Italy, from October 15 to 17, and is jointly organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). This forum is one of the most important international platforms for strategic dialogue on the future of the Mediterranean and neighboring regions.

It aims to promote security, stability, and shared development by involving governments, civil society organizations, experts, and policymakers. This year’s forum sessions will address issues of peacebuilding, economic recovery, combating climate change, migration management, and strengthening regional cooperation.

The minister is accompanied during this trip by a significant delegation from his department.
