Ceremony at the Spanish Embassy in Nouakchott on the Occasion of that Country’s National Day

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain held a reception at its headquarters in Nouakchott on Tuesday evening to celebrate the National Day.

The government was represented at the ceremony by the Minister of Justice, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt; Mr. Harouna Traoré, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic; and Mrs. Hindou Mint Ainina, Advisor to the Prime Minister.

In his speech delivered on this occasion, the Ambassador of Spain to Mauritania, Mr. Pablo Barbara Gómez, praised the excellent quality of relations between Mauritania and Spain, emphasizing that these are relations based on strong human, cultural, and historical ties.He added that the visits and high-level meetings between the leaders of the two countries testify to the depth and strength of the strategic relations and the solid understanding between Mauritania and Spain, encompassing all political, economic, commercial, and cultural areas.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the ambassador, the Director for Europe at the General Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation of the ministry, members of the diplomatic corps in Mauritania, and national dignitaries.
