The missions began their tasks from the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, through a meeting held last evening at the premises of the Mauritanian Embassy there, chaired by the Mauritanian Ambassador in Abidjan, Mr. Mohamed Abdoullah Ould Khatra, and attended by the ministry’s delegation including the advisor in charge of community affairs, Mr. Itoul Oumroi Ould Mohamed Lemine, the Director General for Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Mouloud Ould Mohamed Salem, the Director of Monitoring and Integration at the Directorate General of Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Bab Ould Masoud, and the Head of the Consular Affairs Department at the Directorate of Consular Affairs, Mr. Cheikh Al-Wali Ould Mamou.

For his part, the Foreign Minister’s advisor for community affairs explained that sending these missions reflects the ministry’s keenness to directly listen to the communities’ feedback and their perspectives on the forum, ensuring broad and inclusive participation.

As for the Director General for Mauritanians Abroad, he reviewed the preparation process for the forum and its general objectives, noting that this event constitutes an opportunity for the communities to make their voices heard, raise their concerns, and contribute to national affairs, while emphasizing the state’s commitment to granting these communities the status they deserve in government development plans. He also pointed out that the selection of community representatives to participate in the forum will be carried out by the communities themselves, and that their proposals and recommendations will form the basis upon which the forum’s work program will be built.
