Mauritanian Human Rights Commission forms a Committee to select its New Members.

The Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, Mr. El-Bekay Abdel Malick, held a meeting this evening, Tuesday in Nouakchott, to inaugurate the committee formed to select members of the future National Committee.

This step comes as part of the preliminary measures to form the National Human Rights Commission, where the new committee will be responsible for selecting and choosing the members who will make up the future national commission.In a speech on the occasion, Mr. El-Bekai Abdelmalek said that the formation of this committee is conducted within the framework of the internal regulations, confirming that it will select new members through transparent methods.

For his part, the elected committee chairman, Mr. Mahfoudh Ould Betah, said that the formed committee will decide on the files of 13 members, noting that the remaining members are appointed by official authorities.
