The 164th session of the Arab League Executive Council at the level of foreign ministers began on 4 September in Cairo, with the participation of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
The session, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Arab League, will examine developments in the Palestinian issue, efforts to recognize the Palestinian state, ways to end Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, reconstruction plans, and support for the political, economic, and social steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
The statements made by the heads of delegations participating in the session focused on various Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian issue, the brutal aggression against the Palestinian people by the Israeli war machine, and the need for urgent action by the international community to end this war.
