Speaker of National Assembly Holds Working Session with Emirati Counterpart

The Speaker of the National Assembly, MP Cheikh Ould Baya, held a working session in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday with Mr. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates.

During the working session, the two men reviewed the cooperation relations between the two countries, in particular in the parliamentary field.

The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed his thanks and consideration to Mr. Saqr Ghobash, stressing the importance of the visit to strengthen and develop parliamentary relations in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, FNC Speaker affirmed that the visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly will strengthen parliamentary cooperation relations through the revitalization of the action of parliamentary friendship committees.

He praised Mauritania’s support for the United Arab Emirates’ candidacy for the post of non-permanent member of the Security Council for the period 2022-2023 and the remarkable participation of Mauritania in the 2020 expo which allowed a cultural and civilization exchange and the discovery of the most recent innovations and scientific solutions that can serve humanity.

The two sides, finally, insisted on the exchange of knowledge and experiences within the framework of the activities of the two friendship committees of the two assemblies.
