The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, held talks with his Ivorian counterpart, HE Kacou Houadja Leon Adoum, on Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott.
The talks touched on the close relations between the two countries and means of enhancing and developing them to serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
They also exchanged views on various issues of common interest.
The meeting comes on the sidelines of the first session of political consultations between the two countries, started today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr Daman Hamer, Ambassador of Mauritania to Côte d’Ivoire, HE Mohamed Abdallah Ould Khadra, Ambassador Director-General of the Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation, Mr Mohamed Elhanchi, Ambassador Director-General of the General Directorate for Mauritanians Abroad, Mr Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed Salem, and Ambassador Director of Africa at the General Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation, Ms Mariem Abdallah Sawo, as well as members of the Ivorian delegation.
