President of the “Al-Watan Min Washington” Initiative: “ President of Republic’s Meeting with U.S Counterpart Strengthens Relations and Opens the Door to Strategic Partnerships”

The President of the “Al-Watan Min Washington” initiative, which supports His Excellency the President of the Republic, and his campaign coordinator in Washington, USA, Mr. Sidi Ahmed Ould Ahmeimed, stated that the selection of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani as one of five African presidents to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump is a great honor for Mauritania and reflects its growing status on the international stage.

In an interview with the Mauritanian News Agency on Tuesday, he affirmed that this meeting strengthens our country’s relations with the United States of America and opens the door to strategic partnerships, expressing his hope that it would translate into investment opportunities and development projects.

He added:

“We believe that this type of meeting contributes to improving Mauritania’s image and gives us hope for greater support and better living and working conditions abroad, in addition to enhancing our participation in the nation’s development.”

He called on the Mauritanian community residing in the United States to express their gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic for his efforts in serving the diaspora, including the activation of dual citizenship, facilitation of money transfers, and the digitization of secure official documents. He also praised the importance of the diaspora’s representation in the Mauritanian Parliament.
