President of Association in New York State: “ President’s Meeting with American Counterpart is Defining Moment for Mauritania and the Diaspora”
Mrs. Safia Bint Al-Nah, president of an association in New York State, expressed her deep appreciation for the choice of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump.
She described the meeting as “not merely an important diplomatic event, but a defining moment that reflects the international recognition of Mauritania and its growing status on the global stage.”
In an interview with the Mauritanian News Agency, in which she conveyed the views of the Mauritanian community in the United States regarding the selection of His Excellency among five presidents to meet with the American president, she stated that this meeting “opens new horizons for cooperation and partnership between the two countries in vital areas such as security, economic development, and education.”
She expressed her hope that cooperative relations between Mauritania and the United States would be strengthened, contributing to progress in many fields that benefit the Mauritanian people.
The president of the association affirmed that the meeting, for the Mauritanian community in the United States, “is a source of pride and honor. It reflects the strong ties between the diaspora and their homeland and enhances our standing abroad.”
She added that the meeting “opens new opportunities for integration and advancement within American society and contributes to providing greater support to members of the community across various fields.”
She emphasized that, from a diplomatic perspective, the meeting “will play a significant role in boosting Mauritania’s international standing and in opening new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.”
She expressed her hope that the meeting would help “support investment and development projects in Mauritania, thereby benefiting the national economy.”
