Foreign Minister returns to Nouakchott

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, returned to Nouakchott after representing H.E. President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani at the third session of the United Nations Conference on Ocean Protection, held in Nice, France, from 08 to 12 June.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs chaired a high-level seminar on enhancing transparency and governance in the fishing sector, organised in partnership between Mauritania and the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission, with the participation of a number of African ministers, international organisations and experts in the field of fisheries.
