Minister of Petroleum Visits Tasiast various Plants

The Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, paid a visit on Saturday to the installations of the Tasiast-Mauritania company where he went to the crushing and production plants who was exposed to an accident a few days ago. He also visited the water treatment plant and the production waste treatment plant which transforms polluted liquid materials into solids, thus reducing their dangerousness.
The minister also visited the emergency centre, where fire trucks and other response equipment are stationed to deal with any accident or fire before going to the camp’s health centre.
The minister, accompanied by the governor of Inchiri and the deputy chairman of Tasiast-Mauritania, followed detailed explanations of the progress of work in the stations.
