CNDH Chairperson Meets with MNPT Counterpart

The Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Bouhoubeini, met, Thursday in Nouakchott, with Ms. Moulaty Mint El Mokhtar, chairperson of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture (MNPT).

During the meeting, the two parties discussed several issues related to human rights and the application of laws, regulations, and international treaties relating to the protection of persons deprived of their liberty.

They also discussed ways to unify the action of the two institutions and redouble efforts to advance human rights within the framework of the rule of law, freedom, and equality. The meeting also focused on the launch of a joint training program between the two organizations.
