President receives Credentials of new Algerian Ambassador

HE President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received on Thursday, at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, the credentials of HE Amine Said, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

 

After the credentials ceremony, HE President of the Republic granted the Algerian diplomat a reception attended by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

Following the meeting, the Algerian diplomat made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency (MNA) saying that he was received today by HE President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani to present his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

He added that the meeting allowed him to convey the greetings of H.E. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his brother H.E. President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, pointing out that the meeting touched on a number of points related to the fraternity, cooperation and solidarity between the two brotherly countries, which in recent years has witnessed an accelerated pace and great dynamism, as described by H.E. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune as very good and distinguished relations, stressing that these relations were translated at the highest level and constant and continuous coordination, the last of which was the state visit by H.E. President Tebboune to Mauritania in December 2024.

He explained that this will was also translated into a number of important projects and partnerships within the framework of achieving bilateral integration between the two brotherly countries and promoting regional integration.

 

He said that HE the President of the Republic instructed him to strengthen coordination between the two brotherly countries and move forward in the process of pushing bilateral relations to broader horizons, adding that he sensed from HE the President a convergence of visions between him and HE President Abdelmadjid Tebboune regarding bilateral relations.

He added that this meeting gave him the opportunity to highlight the role played by Mauritania and His Excellency the President of the Republic during his presidency of the previous session of the African Union and his distinguished role in various international and regional forums.

 

He expressed his sincere desire to strengthen relations and elevate them to the highest level to serve the aspirations of the two brotherly and neighboring peoples, noting that the religious, cultural, geographical and historical ties represent a difficult task, responsibility and great honor.

He added that this meeting gave him the opportunity to highlight the role played by Mauritania and His Excellency the President of the Republic during his presidency of the previous session of the African Union and his distinguished role in various international and regional forums.
